How it works
Room area is length × width. The waste percentage covers end cuts, damaged boards and trimming around door frames. Packs are the total divided by the pack coverage, rounded up because you can only buy whole packs.
Example
With room length 5 m, room width 4 m, waste 10%, coverage per pack 2 m², the answer is 11 packs.
Tips before you buy
- Buy all your flooring at once, from the same batch. Colour and finish can vary between batches.
- Most laminate and wood flooring should sit in the room for a day or two before fitting. Check the instructions.
- Keep a spare pack for future repairs.
