Rolls to buy
8 rolls
- Wall area
- 33.5 m²
- With extra
- 38.5 m²
How it works
Wall area is the room’s perimeter times the wall height, minus about 1.9 m² per door and 1.5 m² per window. The calculator adds your pattern allowance and divides by the coverage of one roll, rounding up.
Patterned paper has to line up strip to strip, which wastes part of each drop. The bigger the pattern repeat, listed on the label, the more extra you need.
Example
With room length 4 m, room width 4 m, wall height 2.4 m, doors 1, windows 2, coverage per roll 5.3 m², extra for pattern matching 15%, the answer is 8 rolls.
Tips before you buy
- Buy every roll with the same batch number. Colours vary between batches.
- Get one spare roll for repairs. Discontinued patterns are hard to match.
- Hang a lining paper first on uneven or freshly plastered walls for a smoother finish.
